My Top 5 Movie Villains

01:38

So last week Empire Magazine released their top twenty villains of all time, and needless to say it was a disappointing list. Whilst there were some interesting and agreeable contenders, I was mostly annoyed at some of the top choices such as Loki and Kylo Ren. Hardly villains, like come on! So I've decided to make a small list of five villains that should have made the cut. The top five, the real top five. I'm sure you all know who is at number one.

5) Henry Spencer's Ugly Kid (Eraserhead, 1977) dir. David Lynch

Come on now, this was essential to have on anyone's movie list. This little so and so caused so much trouble for Henry in Eraserhead, and even when Henry tried to nurse it back to health when it was sick, it still turned into a giant monster and tried to eat him. Sure Henry neglected it a bit, but come on look at the thing! Still, doesn't take the top spot of this list.

4) Clark Griswald (The Vacation Movies)

This guy is the world's worst dad. In every Vacation movie, (other then the new reboot but come on that's not the real Vacation) - Clark Griswald has been a terrible husband and father. He was a dick when they had a road trip to Wallyworld, he was a dick when they won a trip to Europe, he was a super prick at Christmas time and of course who could forget that time in Vegas. No wonder Chevy Chase has such an ego, playing this all time villain must have inflated that to no end. But of course he's not as bad as number one... you better be excited for that.

3) The Dog from Rear Window (Rear Window, 1954) dir. Alfred Hitchcock

Now you must all remember this bad guy. Back in '54 Alfred Hitchcock created one of the most evil villains to have ever graced cinema. That dog. Yeah, that one. The one who kept digging at Lars Thorwald's flowerbed for no good reason? No wonder he strangled the dog in the end after that, it's appalling and shocking behaviour that only Hitchcock could translate into film. If you ask me he got what was coming to him. Any who, do you all have any guesses who is at the top of this list yet? You all know who.

2) David Ayer

Alright, alright, he's technically not a movie villain. But he's a villain for making movies. What is going on inside this guy's head? He ruined Suicide Squad with his Hot Topic and unnecessary sexist style, and made Bright which was such a waste of potential. I mean, Fury was good, but I think those strengths are weakened by his villainous aspects. He needs to keep away from a camera, for all our sakes. Now, here it is ladies and gents, the most evil villain of all time. You guessed it guys. Here he is.

1) Feather McGraw (The Wrong Trousers, 1993) dir. Nick Park

Well, we did it everyone. Your clever intuition and common sense guessed that Feathers McGraw, the evil, twisted and despicable penguin that infiltrated Wallace and Gromit's home and stole a priceless diamond, all the while manipulating Wallace and having Gromit thrown out in the process is the worst villain there ever has been. Worst as in the best that is, because he is a terrible, terrible piece of work. I mean just look at him. Even the fact he doesn't speak just makes him all the more chilling and truly frightening. I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him ever. I'm shuddering just thinking about it. Ugh. I need to lie down.
